State Identification Bureaus

Local law enforcement agencies and state courts send an offender's arrest, conviction and sentencing information to their State Identification Bureau.

The information bureaus share state and local criminal history records with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division. However, they may also manage and maintain a local copy of the information.

If there are errors or inaccuracies on your personal criminal report, you may need to contact the state identification bureau in addition to the court that had jurisdiction in the matter.
